Just tried the Opera Next or New Opera… kinda sucks, not ready at all for primetime, lacks a bunch of basic features!
What are they thinking?
When the news broke out that opera was moving to chromium engine i thought that’s a good thing, its a more compatible engine and it would be an excellent more private conscious browser than say Google “all your data is belong to us” Chrome, but now after the launch and install, it lacks a lot of basic features, especially in the usability and options department, no point dragging this on here are my top pet peeves:
- No bookmarks! yeah i know speed dial and whatnot, i dont understand how that is gonna substitute the huge amount of bookmarks that i have.
- Cant edit search engines at all
- Mouse gestures… yes! but only the default ones
- Do you like changing backgrounds and themes and whatnot, forget about it, its that super aggressive blue or nothing, im calling it NEXT BLUEEE!!!!
- Ohh you better enjoy the way tabs open, cause there is only that way, the only way, no tweaking that.
- Cant change buttons, positionings or anything, and since they decided to make it different than Chrome its again a new thing to learn.
- No Opera Mail, yep they decided to make it into a different software and as such i don’t see a bright future for it
- Like that speed dial? great cause you cant choose your homepage! UAU! all Internet Explorer versions had that!
- History is always running, what? you font want history though luck, better clean it before your girlfriend checks up on you.
Basically the new Opera is Google Chrome with a Opera sticker in it! Good Luck with that!
